There are several field types within Unified Solutions which are important for users to know how to fill out--as some of these fields do not allow free text or data which is typed by user. As Unified Solutions is heavily based on NEMSIS standards, users can only enter values which are accepted by their governing state.

Below are the field types which can be found in Unified Solutions' ePCR:

Dropdown fields

When a field has an arrow pointing downwards, it means that the field is a dropdown. In the example below for selecting a municipality, users will first have to type the first few letters of the municipality they are searching for then select the specific municipality from the dropdown list that will appear.

Text box fields

This field type allows free text.

In the example below, the patient's first name and last name fields are text boxes.

In this second example of a text box field, the narrative field allows users to freely type information in.

Lookup fields

In Unified Solutions, there are field where users can easily look up information from a list. For example, in the Allergies field, a modal will appear where users can select from a list of common allergies.

Another type of look up field is the Code Lookup wherein users must click on the magnifying glass button on top of the field to be able to search through all available options which are in the NEMSIS dictionary.

Time Stamp and Date Picker fields

Fields where the required information is time, users can manually type in the values without having to type a colon to separate the hour from the minutes. Another option is to click on the clock icon in the field to automatically enter the current time as seen on the user’s device.

For fields requiring dates, the format should be mm/dd/yyyy. Users can manually enter the date using this format or they can use the calendar icon to show the date picker.

Calculation field

An example of the calculation field is the mileage section. When the scene address field has been properly filled out, users can click on “Calculate load mileage”. This will fill out the rest of the fields and present the load mileage for the trip.

Google Search Address field

Fields requiring an address can easily be filled out by using the Google Location Search option. By typing in a location on the search field and selecting one, it will automatically fill out the rest of the fields where users can then modify if there are missing information (e.g. house number).
